Lori's honors thesis project involves using GIS techniques to work up and analyze data sets that are being collected by the lab, mostly on lakes. The data include surface water properties (temperature, pH, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, pco2). GPS data are recorded continuously on each "cruise". The analysis includes mapping the distributions of the surface water properties and superposing on remote sensing products which will be used to help interpret the other data being measured, and for conferences and publications. Several short (~1 week) campaigns in lakes in upstate NY were done in 2008 and 2009 and several more will happen in spring 2010. Lori has also participated in field campaigns and helped to collect the data (e.g., Piseco Lake, NY).
